Hemraj Chhetri(Nepal)
A self taught musician, Hemraj Chhetri has always been complimented as being one of the most grooving drummers in Nepal. He started playing drums since his school days and has continued to do so for the last 25 years. Hemraj has been involved in performing with his band and was one of the founder members of the legendary band, Rusty Nails. He has toured extensively with this band in all the major states of India, Bhutan & Nepal. He took the initiative to form his own band called Hemusphere, which excelled in funk and blues act. Being the backing band for India's renowned Lou Majaw has been one of the most exhilarating moments for Hemraj. He has performed and jammed with many famous artists from Nepal and abroad. Though he learned to play the drums mostly by ear, he later learned how to read drum notations by himself. Has given drum lessons to many students in India & Nepal and is currently the Drum Instructor at Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory.
