Frequently Asked Questions.

So what is a DJ?

To most folk a DJ is one who plays other peoples music but for a DJ, Its looking for the best music and fitting it together in one set. A DJ condenses the best music from thousands of musicians into a one single set showcasing the best selection for his audience.Playing records is mostly the easy part of it but before a DJ actually gets to play them, countless hours are spent on research, looking for and finding great records to make people go nuts.

DJs have a constant need to discover music and show it off to the world. Irrespective of how vast their record collection is, there is always that one undiscovered tune out there, that one new song to fall in love with all over again.
DJs live and die for their music collection and would much rather spend day in a dusty record shop looking for undiscovered musical gems than even with their loved ones.

Another important task of a DJ is learning and understands people. It's very important for a DJ to have his own musical taste but equally important they should also know what everyone else likes, what makes them happy, smile and go crazy.
A great DJ knows how to get these reactions by playing the right records evoking the right feelings driving people insane. He also is a tastemaker, the champion of the next big sound.

All this for one reason, it's for an undying love of music. A love to play the music you cherish to an audience.

Great DJs do it for the music. Music is what motivates them. It's what got them into it in the first place and the reason why they are so successful and still doing it after all these years.
