Jacek Adam Chmiel – Master of Guitar

We have new faculty coming in many times a year. We’ve had our vocal department head María Fajardo Martín for a long time now and we’re welcoming our new guitar department head Jacek Adam Chmiel from Poland. We are pushing to have international level artists come teach here at the school and also have them train our Nepali faculty.

Jacek started playing the guitar in 2002 inspired by progressive rock and metal. After a few years he switched to jazz, contemporary and experimental music, both as a performer and as a composer. In 2013 he started exploring free improvisation, being one of the founders of a collective called ‘The Elementary Particles’ (based in Poland). They played many concerts in Poland and did several sonorizations for silent films.

From 2014 to 2016 he completed his jazz music studies in Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello (Venice, Italy). Throughout the years he has been playing with many projects throughout the world until recently coming to Nepal and working with us.

He is the only international level artist in Nepal who has a master’s degree in guitar. Call us at 01-5013554 or 9813556945 to take classes from him! Write us at info@katjazz.com.np or send us a message on Facebook.
