
Javier Delgado
Javier Delgado (Seville, Spain) began his studies with Vicente Fuertes, bassist of the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and, later, at the Academia de Estudios Orquestales of the Baremboim-Said Foundation, with Manfred Pernutz, soloist of the Staatskapelle Berlin Orchestra. He’s studied jazz with Ray Drummond, Jerry Bergonzi, Barry Harris, Dave Santoro, Ben Street, Perico Sambeat and Toni Moreno. He has performed with Melker Isaksson, Paul Stocker, Harris Eisenstadt, Pedro Cortejosa, Arturo Serra, Jimmy Weinstein and Perico Sambeat, in festivals throughout Spain, Portugal, France, UK, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Morocco or Indonesia. He has teached at the Escuela de Música Moderna y Jazz of the University of Cadiz, as well as in jazz workshops in Spain. He is the bassist for the Andalucía Big Band.
Due to his versatility, Javier is a very required musician and take part in many diferent projetcs, from jazz to flamenco, arab music or Argentinean tango. After many recodings as sideman, in 2,017 he released Vision Tales (Rizoma Records), album co-lidered with the vibraphone player Arturo Serra.
