Sudhir Acharya

Sudhir Acharya is Kathmandu based percussionist who discovered his passion for rhythm at an early age of 8.

Over time, Acharya expanded his repertoire to include various Nepali percussive instruments, learning most of the Newari drums and the madal, a cylindrical hand drum integral to Nepali folk music.

To complement his foundation in traditional percussion, Sudhir pursued a Jazz Diploma at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, gaining insight into global grooves, jazz drumming, and cross-cultural musical expression and also explored the intersection of traditional Nepali rhythms and jazz improvisation, developing a unique voice as a cross-genre percussionist.

Now, he is also part of Jhuma Limbu and Raithane Music as Percussionist and with Phosphenes as a session drummer.
